My name is Julie, I’m 23 years old and I spent three months in Costa Rica. For the last three weeks of my trip, I really wanted to do something good and helpful, so I volunteered at Alturas Rescue Center, helping care for rescued wildlife. Every day we cleaned enclosures, did laundry, and fed the animals, which was my favorite part. The atmosphere with the other volunteers was amazing, and I learned so much about animal care and teamwork. It was one of the best parts of my trip, and I’d totally recommend it to anyone who loves animals and wants to give their time to a good cause.
