As the only wildlife rescue center in our region, we respond to emergencies across three major conservation areas, nearly 20% of Costa Rica’s territory. From monkeys and sloths to birds, reptiles, and endangered species, hundreds of animals depend on us each year.

But we cannot do it alone.

Why you should consider giving monthly

Wildlife doesn’t stop needing care; not during rainy season, not during economic downturns, not ever. By becoming a monthly donor, you give us stability to:

  • Plan ahead and cover budget gaps
  • Be fully prepared for emergency rescues
  • Provide continuous, high- quality care to every patient
  • Invest in long term conservation and release programs

Why your support matters

Rescuing wildlife is unpredictable. Emergencies happen at any hour. Animals arrive with broken bones, electrocutions, head trauma, poisoning, or as orphans who need round-the-clock care.

Your donation helps provide:

  • Emergency rescues and 24/7 veterinary care
  • Specialized treatments, X-rays, ultrasounds, lab work, and surgeries
  • Formula, fresh produce, and species-specific diets
  • Enclosures, enrichment, and long-term sanctuary care for non-releasable animals
  • Post-release monitoring to ensure animals thrive back in the wild

Every contribution directly protects wildlife and transforms suffering into survival.

Permanent Sanctuary Residents

Our main goal and greatest wish is to release every animal that comes into our care, but this isn’t always possible. Our sanctuary is where those animals who couldn’t be released back to where they belong, call home. The majority of these animals are here because they were kept illegally as pets; others are here because of physical issues that would prevent them from thriving in the wild. Every single one of these animals needs specialized care to ensure that they live the best life they can, despite having to be in captivity. This means a specialized diet, daily species-specific enrichment to prevent habituation and sometimes, frequent medical care. You can join us in caring for our residents by sponsoring one of them. Click below to learn each of their stories and to join in their care.

Low Season

During Costa Rica’s heavy rain season, tourism drops dramatically. For us, that means a major loss of funds at the exact time when wildlife needs us most.

Your donation today helps us:

  • Keep our veterinary clinic fully operational
  • Cover daily animal care and essential supplies
  • Respond to increased wildlife emergencies caused by weather and habitat stress
  • Ensure no animal is ever turned away due to lack of funds

You are the reason we can stay open, fully staffed, and ready to save lives; rain or shine.

Ocelot GPS Collar

We have an ocelot in pre-release that is due to be released the end of this year and we are hoping to raise funds to purchase a GPS collar to keep him safe after release. The data provided will also help the conservation world improve rehabilitation techniques and our understanding of these elusive cats.

Help Wildlife Through Our Amazon Wishlist

Want to support us in a direct and meaningful way? Our Amazon Wishlist includes the daily essentials we use to care for injured, orphaned, and recovering animals. From formula, medical supplies and cleaning materials to enrichments items and more.

Every item you purchase goes straight into our clinic, nursery or sanctuary and immediately helps an animal in need.

They can’t survive without us. We can’t do it without you.

Your donation, whether one-time or monthly, ensures that every animal that arrives at our gates has a fighting chance to heal, grow stronger, and return to the wild where they belong.
